OF THE ASHES OF MRS. VIOLA BURNHAM, OR

- The
ashes of Mrs Viola Burnham, former Vice President, and widow
of President L.F.S. Burnham will return to Guyana on Friday 24th
of October accompanied by her daughters and other close
relatives. The remains will be received at Congress Place, the
Sophia headquarters of the Peoples National Congress Reform. A
guard of honour provided by the National Congress of Women,
the Guyana Youth and Students Movement and the other
organisations will be mounted.

- There
will be a memorial service for Mrs. Burnham at the Trinity
Methodist Church at High and Durban Streets at 3.30 pm on
Sunday 26th of October.
A Special Cultural Programme “Viola Burnham: A
Beautiful Life” will be held in her honour on Monday 27th
of October at the National Cultural Centre at 6.00pm. A
photographic and craft exhibition will also be mounted in the
foyer of the Cultural Centre. Some of Guyana’s leading
musicians and dancers have agreed to celebrate the life of
this great daughter of Guyana. Both of these occasions are
open to the public.
